Fond memories... It was a bit run down but Admirals and the Tandoori were superb for food, the bakery fantastic for all manner of 'sweet treats' and a Co-op which served the whole community. Now we have a supermarket which is good for buying saffron or other products at twice the price of everywhere else, a restaurant that changes to ever more ridiculous types of food every other month (flexitarian - honestly🤣) and a few other shops that are neither use nor ornament.
I used to work at the greengrocers on a Saturday, we had great fun 😍
My family owned the chippy
Could do with another chippy back in Hale Barns. I worked at the hairdressers next to the chippy for a few years, Cameron H Hairdressing.
Hands down, the bakery was the best shop which has ever been at the square
Admirals fish and chips
Pity they changed everything great square Hale Barns not the same
The dry cleaners was great - truth!
Who remembers the shops prior to the Square being built? My family lived there for generations.
Admiral’s and the Hale Barns Tandoori.
Hale Barns Tandoori and Admirals.
And the Chocolate Racetrack from the bakery.
What a shame they didn’t keep and up date it ,it had great potential, especially now as lots of people love to eat out
Instead we get something built that’s neither use nor ornament
I worked ar luxicote 1983
Philippa Dewey those dogs we walked and the truck!!
